A recent landmark study was published in New England Journal of Medicine this week providing guidelines for infants at risk of peanut allergy.
The results showed a marked decrease in peanut allergy in this at risk population by following a peanut diet protocol. At risk translates to those with egg allergy or those with moderate to severe eczema. The age of children in this particular study was 4 – 11 months of age. We certainly diagnose and treat children older than this, but the point of the study was to start this process quite early. Please call our office to schedule an appointment!!!!
